About the Role
Spearbit is looking for an experienced Security Researcher to conduct deep technical reviews of smart contracts and blockchain protocols. You’ll work alongside some of the best minds in the industry to identify vulnerabilities, assess risks, and contribute to the advancement of secure Web3 infrastructure.
What You’ll Do
Perform in-depth security audits of smart contracts and blockchain systems
Analyze protocol design and identify attack surfaces (DeFi, tokenomics, MEV, bridges, ZK)
Work in teams (pods) with other senior researchers
Deliver clear, actionable security recommendations and impact assessments
Reproduce exploits, write PoCs, and occasionally contribute patches
Share knowledge through internal reports, post-mortems, or public articles
Who You Are
Experienced: You’ve audited or developed complex smart contracts and understand Solidity, the EVM, and common vulnerability patterns (e.g., reentrancy, access control flaws)
Technically Curious: You approach security from first principles and dive deep
Collaborative: You enjoy working with other researchers and devs
Detail-Oriented: You write clear and professional reports and findings
Credible: You’ve participated in audits, bug bounties, CTFs, or have public security contributions
Web3-Aligned: You’re passionate about decentralization and resilient systems
Preferred Qualifications
Deep knowledge of EVM and Solidity
Audit experience (solo or team) on production smart contracts
Familiarity with bridges, ZK systems, cross-chain protocols
Proven track record of impactful security work (CTFs, audits, bug bounties)
Tooling experience: Foundry, Echidna, Slither, etc.
Experience writing or reviewing technical specs
